Rosa is delighted to announce the appointment of Rebecca Gill as its new Executive Director starting in late April 2020.
Rebecca has more than 20 years’ experience working in and around the women’s sector to improve the rights of women and girls in the UK. She will take over from Alex Delaney, who was appointed interim executive director in September 2019.
Rebecca has spent the past three years as an independent consultant working with a range of organisations including the Women’s Budget Group and Rosa. Rebecca spent five years working as Director of Policy, Campaigns and Communications at Young Women’s Trust and has also worked at the TUC, Fawcett Society and in the Government Equalities Office. In 2016 she was a Fellow of the Clore Social Leadership Programme.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Rosa as Executive Director. Women’s organisations are the bedrock of communities across the UK. Right now many are seeing a huge increase in demand for their vital services while experiencing financial and operational challenges of their own. Supporting them through this and beyond will be at the heart of Rosa’s work.”
Rosa Chair, Cath Dovey, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have Rebecca as the next executive director of Rosa. She brings a wealth of experience working with organisations to improve the rights of women and girls, and a unique perspective on the role of women’s organisations in the UK today. At an unprecedented time of crisis and when women’s needs are more urgent than ever, Rebecca is the right person to take Rosa forward.”
