Rosa launches a second round of Rise Fund

Rosa is delighted to announce the launch of Rise Fund 2025, investing in the future of Black and racially minoritised-led women’s and girls’ organisations across the UK.

Organisations led by and for Black and racially minoritised women are lifelines for individuals and communities throughout the UK. As well as providing sisterhood and support to women and girls, they collectively campaign on issues of racism, sexism and poverty as well as discrimination due to disability, sexuality, and immigration status. It is within these organisations that future leaders of the feminist and anti-racist movements grow.

Yet despite the unique position these powerfully important organisations hold within the women and girls sector, they are chronically underfunded and many are on the brink of survival.

Rosa’s Rise Fund responds to this need with a second round of flexible funding for Black and racially-minoritised women’s and girls’ organisations within the UK. The first round in 2022 supported 35 organisations, benefitting 12,451 women and girls. It also leveraged additional funding, with £2.07 raised for every £1 invested in organisational development.

Rise Fund 2025 has been developed alongside women from the sector with experience of racial injustice, and it will be awarding two-year organisational development grants of up to £40,000 for groups with an annual income of between £30,000 and £300,000.

Lisa Raftery, Rosa Trustee and Chair of the Rise Grants Panel said:

“Few funders prioritise specifically women-led organisations, so I’m delighted to be working with Rosa on Rise Fund. With flexible support, grassroots organisations can evolve into robust, sustainable institutions capable of creating lasting change in their communities.”

Rosa would like to thank the advisory group members, Trustees, staff, and donors, for their vital contribution to the Fund.

The Fund will close for applications at 4pm on Monday 23 June 2025. VISIT THE FUND PAGE for more information about the Rise Fund, including how to apply, application guidance and FAQs
