Underfunded, under resourced and under the radar: the state of the women and girls’ social sector
Rosa commissioned Pro Bono Economics to comprehensively survey the women and girls sector. The results highlight the tremendous pressure organisations are under. A highly competitive funding environment, staffing challenges, rising demand and rising complexity of demand put services, campaigning and advocacy at risk. The results show:
-
- More than 9 in 10 experienced an increase in demand for services in the previous year
- 52% cite funding sources as their top concern
- 59% do not have sufficient staff to meet their organisation’s objectives
- 26% Black and/or minoritised women and girls’ organisations cite rising costs as a top concern
Despite these challenges, organisations are determined to continue to work together to drive lasting change for women and girls.
